1. Purpose
Floridigital is meant to help people use technology more clearly, safely, and confidently. That requires a community where beginners can ask questions, experienced people can disagree honestly, and everyone can participate without harassment, exploitation, or avoidable privacy risk.
These rules apply in Floridigital websites, Discord, Slack, the portal, support channels, events, workshops, physical spaces, shared equipment, and any other Floridigital-controlled space.
2. Expected conduct
Participants are expected to:
- treat others as people with equal standing;
- communicate disagreement without threats, targeted humiliation, or harassment;
- respect names, pronouns, boundaries, accessibility needs, and requests to disengage;
- make room for beginners and explain unfamiliar jargon where practical;
- avoid monopolizing rooms, support, equipment, or group discussion;
- distinguish personal opinions from official Floridigital statements;
- ask permission before photographing, recording, or sharing another person's information;
- report safety, security, privacy, or conduct concerns in good faith.
Being direct, critical, political, emotional, awkward, or inexperienced is not by itself a rule violation.
3. Conduct that is not allowed
Floridigital does not allow:
- harassment, stalking, threats, intimidation, or unwanted sexual attention;
- discriminatory abuse or targeted attacks based on identity, protected status, personal characteristics, or vulnerability;
- doxxing, outing, or sharing private information without permission;
- repeated contact after a clear request to stop;
- impersonation, fraud, scams, phishing, spam, or deceptive promotion;
- malware, credential theft, unauthorized access, destructive automation, or abuse of systems;
- copyright infringement or posting material you do not have the right to share;
- content or conduct that encourages self-harm, violence, exploitation, or illegal activity;
- retaliation against someone for reporting a concern or participating in a review;
- using Floridigital access primarily for unsolicited sales, recruitment schemes, spam, or political campaign operations;
- behavior that creates an immediate safety risk or persistent material disruption.
4. Technical help and professional boundaries
Members may offer technical ideas and peer help, but are expected to be clear about uncertainty and avoid claiming professional authority they do not have. No member is required to provide free labor. Requests for help must respect time, consent, confidentiality, and the difference between casual help and paid professional service.
Issues involving access, billing, privacy, security, managed accounts, or official Floridigital services may need to move to official support.
5. Privacy, recording, and personal information
Do not post or share someone else's address, phone number, private email, identity documents, health information, financial information, account secrets, private messages, photos, recordings, or sensitive circumstances without permission.
Do not record meetings, calls, workshops, rooms, screens, or support sessions without consent from the people involved and compliance with applicable law and posted rules.
6. Technical and security use
Security learning and automation are welcome when they are lawful, authorized, scoped, and respectful of shared resources. Scanning, penetration testing, scraping, bulk messaging, automated account activity, or experiments that could affect other people or systems require permission from the owner of the target and compliance with vendor rules.
Do not evade usage limits, abuse shared resources, bypass access controls, share accounts, or use Floridigital infrastructure for malware, phishing, spam, denial-of-service activity, cryptomining, credential stuffing, or unauthorized testing.
7. Moderation and enforcement
Floridigital may take action when it reasonably believes these rules, the Terms of Service, law, vendor requirements, or safety obligations have been violated. Actions may include reminders, education, warnings, content removal, channel restrictions, temporary mute, event removal, support limits, account suspension, membership termination, or escalation to a vendor or authority when required.
Urgent safety, security, or abuse concerns may require immediate protective action before a full review. When practical, Floridigital will consider context, severity, impact, repeated behavior, intent, credibility, corroboration, and prior corrective action.
8. Reporting concerns
Report conduct, safety, privacy, or security concerns to [email protected]. A helpful report includes what happened, where it happened, when it happened, who was involved, and any screenshots, links, or other evidence available. Lack of screenshots does not make a report invalid.
Floridigital will try to limit information about reports to people who need it to respond, but cannot promise absolute confidentiality. Knowingly false reports intended to harm another person may violate these rules. A report that cannot be substantiated is not automatically a false report.
